52r-02One of the biggest events of the year is finally here! The 2014 Super Boat International World Championship is officially underway, as the boat parade took place in Key West yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. While the competition doesn’t officially begin until this Wednesday, November 5th, fans are already gathering for festivities, and MTI promises that this year will not disappoint!

The CMS Offshore Race Team has brought not one… but TWO sleek CMS MTI catamarans to compete in the event! Bob Bull will be driving his brand-new 52′ two-seater, paired with our own Randy Scism on the throttles while throttleman John Tomlinson and driver Jeff Harris will power the 48′ CMS MTI catamaran. Check out some awesome coverage from Speed on the Water Magazine for more info on the dynamic duo!

Countdown to Key West: CMS Packing Two-Team Punch

cmslakeraceThe new CMS 52-footer was finished last week. “We ran it on the lake a bit last week,” said Bull. “I’m heading to Florida tomorrow to pick up Randy (currently is in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area for the ongoing Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show), and then will head down to Key West.”

No team in recent history has fielded two boats in the Unlimited class, much less one with four formidable veteran offshore racers in their cockpits. The combined experienced of Bull, Scism, Harris and Tomlinson spans decades.

“I’m heading down Monday” said Tomlinson. “It’s going to be fun being part of a two-boat team, and I’m looking forward to running with Jeff.”
