| August 24, 2015

cmslakeraceWe have less than one week before the festivities begin at the 2015 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. Marine Technology Inc will be present at all the popular events!

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Powerboat Race has grown over 27 years from two days of racing to two weeks of action.

The excitement launched Saturday, Aug. 15, and will ride waves of fun, adrenaline, and friendship through to the awards celebration on Sunday, Aug. 30. The Shootout has become a fourth holiday weekend, boosting business tourism by an estimated $7 million. Hundreds of the world’s top powerboat racers and tens of thousands of powerboat race fans descend on the Lake of the Ozarks for what racers and fans both proclaim to be the best Shootout in the country! Best of all, the driving force behind it is raising funds for charity and local firefighters.

Waves and Wheels Presents the Shootout On The Strip Meet & Greet

Waves and Wheels presents the Shootout On The Strip Meet & Greet, this year back at the Bagnell Dam Strip! The event begins at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 26 on the Strip in Lake Ozark. Shootout race teams will line up with their boats, mingle with fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures. This is a great opportunity to meet the racers competing in the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and see the million dollar boats inside and out.

“These guys are great and they love to talk to people who love the sport. They especially like answering the kids’ questions—probably because most of them are family men themselves,” said Ron Duggan, Shootout Organizer. “You can watch the race online and you can see pictures of the drivers, but when you can meet them, shake their hands, get your picture taken with them — it lets you make a connection that makes it a lot more fun when you’re watching them race.”

The Races

On Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 29–30, boaters will test the limits at the best and largest powerboat race in the Midwest. Take a shot at victory, or join the 2-mile flotilla at the 34 Mile Marker and take in the action. The victors will get their spoils on Sunday and the new Top Gun will take home the trophy. Let the fun begin!
