The program specifies qualified components to be used with the new product along with factory-approved product specifications.

Mercury Racing Sterndrive Performance Engines

1650 Picture 4 The 1650 is based on the same four valve technology with quad cams and dry sump efficiency as its consumer siblings. Larger turbochargers, packed with an improved compressor wheel design, provide greater airflow for enhanced power and torque. The 9.0 liter quad cam four valve (QC4v) cylinder block and head design, combined with SmartCraft Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS), provides big power with luxury-car-like drivability. The DTS system also features one- touch Smart Start and automatic throttle synchronization, as well as shadow mode for triple or quad engine applications (where two throttle levers operate all engines). Zero Effort Digital controls provide an intuitive control experience – precisely signaling driver intent to the potent powerhouses. The 1650 is close-cooled for more uniform temperature distribution, optimal running quality and longer life. Closed cooling, combined with a ball bearing supported compressor shaft, enhances 1650 turbocharger performance and durability as well. Offshore racers will appreciate Mercury Racing’s proprietary pulse-separated exhaust tuning which keeps turbos “spooled up,” virtually eliminating throttle lag and low-end torque deficit.

1350 – Mercury Racing has led the world of high-performance boating with engines that epitomize power and speed for more than 70 years. Since the day Mercury Racing was founded, we’ve committed ourselves to the art of innovation. Today, we’re proud to introduce an engine that is the culmination of everything we’ve ever learned. Introducing the 1350, Mercury Racing’s most powerful, durable, and efficient engine yet. The first sterndrive engine package ever fully designed in-house — from block to prop — by Mercury Racing engineers, the 1350 delivers an on-water experience that will drive you farther and longer than ever before. This isn’t merely an engine. This is history in the making. This is a watershed. Along with luxury-car-like drivability, the 1350 delivers elements of stylistic sophistication that make each engine look as good as it runs. For the first time ever, we’ve hidden the necessary chaos of wires and tubes beneath customizable carbon fiber covers available in 10 paint options. Two of which – SuperSilver Metallic and Bling-Bling Black Metallic – are new to the Mercury Racing array.

1100 – Based off the quad cam four valve (QC4v) engine platform, the 1,100 horsepower engine shares all of the creature comforts of its game changing sibling; the 1350.

Compared to the 1075 SCi, it has a little more power and a lot more torque. In fact – big torque and power runs in the family. The 1100 pumps out 1,100 lb-ft of torque from 2500 to 5250 rpm (more than the 1200 SCi!) – and delivers 1,100 horsepower at its 6,500 rpm red line. All of this power and torque comes from 89 posted octane (R+M)/2, (95 RON, global) pump gas. The 1075 SCi and competitive engines with like power ratings require a minimum 91 posted octane. Like the 1350, the 1100 complies with EPA and CARB exhaust gas emissions limits.

525 – The Mercury Racing HP525 EFI is world renowned for its performance on and off the race course. The engine package is the power behind numerous offshore world championships. Reliability, durability and overall performance are the reasons that offshore racers choose the 525 EFI as their power of choice. This race-proven consumer engine is a favorite among recreation sport boaters and poker runners as well. Enhancements include the PCM microprocessor, universal engine mounts, increased engine oil flow and a larger volume and higher flow power steering system. Changes in the power steering system provide OEM boat builders with the option to rig two power steering pumps (dual engines) in series. Engine protection is enhanced thanks to increased engine oil flow through the filter and cooler. Engine drive packages include Bravo One XR, Bravo One XR Sport Master, Bravo Three XR and dry-sump Six drive. The optional Integrated Transom System (ITS) provides hydraulic steering on the drive while making the transom more aesthetically pleasing and simplifying installation.
