Just four months ago, MTI debuted its first V 50 center console during its Owners Fun Run in the Florida Keys. Now the Wentzville, Mo., high-performance powerboat builder has orders for 18 new 50-footers, all—like hull No. 1—powered by five Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines.
“It is still really exciting and special with the V 50 being a new model,” said Taylor Scism. “We thought the 50 would appeal more to people who want to run in the ocean, travel to the Bahamas, and so on. And even though they might not overnight on it, people know it’s an option if they want to.”
