This past weekend brought offshore racing fans from all over the country to Cocoa Beach, Florida, for the P1 offshore race. Representing Marine Technology Inc. and T/S Motorsports were John Tomlinson and Milton Calafell, driving the #7 all the way to second place. Adding 93 points to our overall standings, in the hunt for the APBA National Championship title, with a 5 boat total entry list into the class. We are incredibly grateful for the sheer dedication and drive showed by Calafell and Tomlinson over the weekend, even though it was hard to not be on-site and in the boat! This was the first time Calafell and Tomlinson have raced together for MTI and T/S Motorsports in their respective careers, and they were an impeccable team. Thank you to all those who have been keeping up with us, and we are already preparing for the next race! Even though it didn’t take much persuading, we send a special thank you to Milton Calafell for stepping in for Taylor Scism and keeping our boat on the track. Tomlinson and driver Milton Calafell had the fleet covered in the Factory Stock 450R class in their 39-foot MTI, TS Motorsports, until the last turn of the last lap when a water hose blew off one of the outboards’ powerhead, filling the cowling with water and shutting down the engine.
