This Lil’ Jet racing boat is compact but packs a big punch. Read more below about the boat and its new owner experience with MTI.

Dubbed Lil’ Jet, the new boat, owned by Burton Kirsten, is an MTI 340X sport cat that will be powered by Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines and currently is being painted at Stephen Miles Design in Owensboro, Ky.

Kirsten ordered the 34-footer for his wife, Yvette, last August during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout after the couple sold their twin Verado 400R-powered DCB Performance Boats M29 sport cat.

“I have been talking to (MTI principal) Randy Scism for years and I’ve always wanted to do a deal with him,” said Kirsten, who will keep the 340X on a lift behind his home on the shores of Lake St. Clair. “He called me one afternoon and asked me if I wanted to do a test ride, so the next day we met and ran one together. I loved it. I told my wife, ‘It’s up to you, but if you want to do this I want to do this.’ And she did.”

“It’s been great doing business with Randy and MTI so far,” he added. “The boat even went to Stephen Miles four weeks early. How often does that happen?”
