“I’ve really wanted a boat with Merc 700s,” said Eric, who serves as president of the FMO board of directors. “I’ve always loved the lines of an MTI and we’ve wanted a six-person cockpit. We got extremely lucky with the timing of this boat and because we had the ability to do everything that we wanted to do with it. Scheduled to begin testing in preparation for the Super Boat International season-opener May 15-17 in Cocoa Beach, Fla., the Broadcoteam has been busy in the off season with fiberglass work on the 40-foot MTI catamaran. Driver/owner Chuck Broaddus and throttleman/team manager Grant Bruggemann piloted the cat to a Superboat-class world title at the SBI World Championships in Key West, Fla., in November 2014.
